About Us

SVSU Campus

The buildings in which we construct and work in affect our health and environment in countless ways.  As the environmental impact of buildings becomes more apparent, a new initiative called green or sustainable building is gaining strength.   This practice of creating healthier and more resource-efficient models of construction, renovation, operation maintenance, and demolition will create a greater environmental and economic impact for our local communities in the Mid-Michigan Area.

SVSU’s long-term objective is to integrate green building principles into local businesses and organizations through green building funding provided by grants and private sources.  Our ultimate goal is to stimulate demand for sustainable business practices through accelerated green building growth in the region.  Continue your education about sustainability and the benefits you can gain by incorporating this information into your sustainability initiative.  Be an innovator in the region by clicking on one of the following links above to gain more information and be one of the dynamic success stories of the region.

The Green Building Resources Disc was funded by the State of Michigan’s Energy Office under the Community Energy Project Grant.  To learn more about the Energy Office or this grant please go to www.michigan.gov/energyoffice.
